 Course Description
 
This course is in conjunction with the course “Topics in Contemporary Buddhism” (3 credits) that will open in the second semester of 108 academic year. In this semester, we will begin with learning about Theravada Buddhist cultures in South and Southeast Asia, exploring relevant religious, social and political topics, before moving onto discussion in other topics in Contemporary Buddhism in the second semester. We aim not only to help students developing academic skills of researching Buddhism but also to widen students’ views on different Buddhist traditions and interplaying elements.
本課程與108學年度第二學期所開的「當代佛教議題」相配合，先由認識南傳上座部佛教開始，探討各種研究途徑理論與方法，並討論南亞及東南亞的南傳上座部佛教文化，再於第二學期討論期他當代佛教的議題。
