Course Description
 
This course aims to improve students’ listening comprehension of English through awareness-building drills and exercises. Students will be required to practice a variety of listening skills including note taking, comprehension of main idea and detail, inference, and determining viewpoint, genre and/or tone. Varieties of English will be introduced too so that students will know not only the difference between American English and British English but also the diversity of English used by non-native speakers.
本課程旨在透過反覆練習,提升學生的英文聽力。學生將被要求練習許多聽力相關技巧,如做筆記、對主題與細節的理解、推論、決定觀點、文類與/或語調。英語的多樣性也會被介紹,以便讓學生瞭解英式英文與美式英文的差異,以及母語非英語的人士使用英文的多樣性。
