Course Description
 
This course is intended to increase students’ fluency and accuracy in spoken English through practice of sentence patterns that have been commonly used in daily conversation and through roleplaying the English used in a variety of social situations. Basic academic English will be also introduced to prepare students for further studies. Students will be expected to speak mostly in English and to take an active part in in-class activities. To facilitate oral practice, the class will be frequently divided into small groups. Related areas such as pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm will be practiced in class. Students will be given ample opportunities to practice their listening and speaking skills through interacting with their peers and teacher in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Students should bear in mind that they cannot improve their English if they don’t open their mouth to speak up. Therefore, active in-class participation is necessary in every class meeting. Students are also encouraged to converse with each other in English in and outside of the classroom to practice and apply what they have learned in class.
本課程將透過日常會話常用句型的練習與不同情境的角色扮演,提升學生口說英語的流利度與精確度。學生將被要求在課堂上盡量以英文表達,並積極參與課堂活動。為了提升口語練習機會,同學將分成小組進行活動,課堂上也會強調發音與語調的練習。透過和同學與老師的頻繁互動,學生將有充分機會練習說的技巧。

1. 學生請假悉依本校「學則」及「學生請假辦法」規定辦理。
2. 依本校「學則」第33條,曠課一小時,以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一,經該科教師扣考後,即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。
