Course Description
 
本課程自縱剖面來看，主要在於介紹世界各大主要文明的歷史演進，藉此說明人類經驗的豐富與多樣性。自橫切面來看，則意在強調不同文明和人群之間的互動與交流，如何逐步造就我們今日全球一體化的世界。為與中國通史課程既有所區隔又加以銜接，本課程將不會特別講述中國文明的進展，但會以之為基準點而不時涉及，從而將我們較為熟悉的中國歷史人物與發展，在時代分期與交互影響上嵌入一種全球史的視野，以求了解諸多異文化的共相與殊相。另一方面，由於世界史涉及的範圍太廣，某種程度的詳今略古是不可避免的。目的始終是在於說明，我們如何成為現在的我們。
From a longitudinal perspective, this course primarily introduces the historical development of the major civilizations of the world, illustrating the richness and diversity of human experience. From a cross-sectional perspective, it emphasizes the interactions and exchanges between different civilizations and peoples, and how these have gradually shaped the globalized world we live in today. In order to distinguish this course from, yet connect it with, the Chinese general history course, it will not focus specifically on the progress of Chinese civilization but will use it as a reference point. This allows us to integrate familiar Chinese historical figures and developments into a global historical perspective, embedding them in the broader context of periodization and cross-cultural influences. In doing so, we aim to understand the commonalities and differences across diverse cultures. On the other hand, given the vast scope of world history, some emphasis on the modern period over the ancient is inevitable. The ultimate goal is to explain how we have come to be who we are today.

學生請假規則

 1. 學生請假悉依本校「學則」及「學生請假辦法」規定辦理。
2. 依本校「學則」第33條，曠課一小時，以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一，經該科教師扣考後，即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。
