Course Description

公眾史學有別於傳統的歷史學，傳統的歷史學專注於國家、君王、政治、民族等宏大敘事的書寫，個人乃至家族，都必須在這一個框架下存在著。民族國家興起後，歷史學的任務轉為傳達愛國教育。1970年代後，新的觀念開始崛起，公眾史學的概念被發明，公眾史學指的即是大家的歷史，政治史、國家朝代興衰固然確有其事，卻是忽略了做為社會的主體：人的重要。本課程即將引導同學進入公眾史學的場域，公眾史學可以大至國家、民族，更可以關注個人與家族在當代社會的重要，也是未來文史就業市場的重要領域。
Public historiography is different from traditional historiography, which focuses on the writing of grand narratives such as states, kings, politics, and nations, and individuals and even families must exist within this framework. After the rise of the nation-state, the task of history shifted to conveying patriotic education. After the 1970s, new ideas began to rise, and the concept of public historiography was invented, which refers to the history of everyone, political history, the rise and fall of national dynasties, although it is true, but it ignores the importance of being the main body of society: people. This course will guide students into the field of public history, which can be as large as the country and the nation, and can also focus on the importance of individuals and families in contemporary society, which is also an important field in the future job market of literature and history.
