Course Description

本課程主要目的在探討佛教入華後，在歷史脈絡中各朝代與各時期的變化。重點放在佛教思想與中國傳統思想的關係，即以佛教思想史為側重，分析佛教思想如何進入中國文化圈影響社會大眾的生活及信仰。課程中除介紹歷史上的各時期之重要人物與事件，將以各階段重要的思想問題為主軸以貫穿之，以呈現中國佛教思想的流變與發展之面貌。
The primary objective of this course is to explore the historical development of Buddhism after its introduction to China, examining the changes across different dynasties and periods. The focus is on the relationship between Buddhist thought and traditional Chinese philosophy, with an emphasis on the history of Buddhist thought. The course analyzes how Buddhist ideas entered the Chinese cultural sphere and influenced people's lives and beliefs. In addition to introducing key historical figures and events from various periods, the course will center on significant philosophical issues at different stages to provide a comprehensive view of the evolution and development of Chinese Buddhist thought.

Course Objectives

4	佛教物質文化在漢地的物質文化和考古發現 Explore the material culture of Buddhism in China, including archaeological discoveries and tangible cultural heritage
5	漢傳佛教的宗派與法義思想 Study the various Buddhist schools in China and their doctrinal teachings
