Course Description
 
如來藏佛性思想，無論是教義或信仰上，扮演重要的角色。它所探討的，是眾生成佛的可能性與成佛的對象。除了佛教本身，在南北朝時期，這樣的議題也被道教吸收與納入到道教的教義與信仰中。如此可見如來藏佛性思想在中國的重要性。如來藏佛性的探討超越宗派，各宗派依據各自的主要教義思想，針對如來藏佛性思想發展出不同的詮釋。在中國，有些宗派進而把如來藏佛性思想的探討，從有情眾生擴展至草木無情。這樣的延伸，也被日本佛教的本覺思想所繼承。這當中的轉折變化和因素，將會是本課所探討的內容之一。本課將依照佛教的傳播，探討如來藏佛性思想，從印度經由中國到日本的發展與變化，了解此議題在東亞文化上，如何再被詮釋與重新詮釋。
