Course Description
 
禪與淨土念佛雖源自印度佛教僧人修行證悟之不同法門，但傳入中國以後分別成立宗派，並流傳至今。研究漢傳佛教則不得不就禪、淨文獻典籍與思想之傳播進行深刻的理解、反思。
Although Chan meditation and Pure Land recitation originated as distinct paths of spiritual cultivation among Indian Buddhist monastics, they each developed into separate schools upon transmission to China and have continued to flourish to this day. A thorough study of Chinese Buddhism thus necessitates deep understanding and critical reflection on the transmission of Chan and Pure Land texts and thought.
