Course Description
 
依據《劍橋線上字典》，人類誌（ethnography）指的是由長期生活於特定社會中的研究者，對該社會文化所進行的科學性描述。由於佛教是一種「被實踐的宗教」，而非僅存在於典籍中的宗教，因此人類誌方法在佛教研究中被廣泛運用。

本課程的核心在於培養學生進行人類誌研究的能力，同時亦會提及其他質性研究方法，如深度訪談等。
According to Cambridge Dictionary online, ethnography is a scientific description of the culture of a society by someone who has lived in it. Ethnography has frequently been used to the study of Buddhism since Buddhism is a lived religion rather than a religion exists merely on texts. This course focuses on acquiring the skill of ethnographic research although other qualitative research methods such as in-dept interviews will also be mentioned.
