Course Description

「當代佛教議題」課程旨在幫助學生理解佛教在21世紀所面臨的多元挑戰與發展趨勢。本課程透過佛教學理論、社會科學方法與實務案例的結合，著重於培養學生的跨學科研究能力與學術反思，並引導學生深入探討佛教如何應對當代社會演變中的多重議題與弘法挑戰，包括環境危機、科技發展、全球化衝擊、宗教對話、性別平權及文化變遷等議題，進一步理解佛教在當代社會中的角色、功能與未來走向。本課程不僅強調理論探討，更重視實務分析與問題解決，期望學生透過嚴謹的學術訓練，具備批判思考、跨領域整合及回應現代佛教議題的能力，成為具國際視野與社會責任感的佛教學研究者。
The Contemporary Buddhist Issues course aims to help students understand the diverse challenges and developmental trends Buddhism faces in the 21st century. Combining Buddhist Studies theories, social science methodologies, and practical case studies, this course emphasizes the cultivation of interdisciplinary research skills and academic reflection. It guides students to explore how Buddhism responds to multiple issues and propagation challenges arising from societal changes, including environmental crises, technological advancements, the impact of globalization, interreligious dialogue, gender equality, and cultural transformations. Furthermore, the course not only highlights theoretical exploration but also emphasizes practical analysis and problem-solving. Through academic training, students are expected to develop critical thinking, interdisciplinary integration, and the ability to address contemporary Buddhist issues. The ultimate goal is to cultivate scholars for Buddhist Studies with a global perspective and a strong sense of social responsibility.

學生請假規則

1. 學生請假悉依本校「學則」及「學生請假辦法」規定辦理。
2. 依本校「學則」第33條，曠課一小時，以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一，經該科教師扣考後，即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。Students must request leave in accordance with the university's Academic Regulations and the Student Leave Policy.

According to Article 33 of the university's Academic Regulations, one hour of unexcused absence is equivalent to two hours of missed class. If a student's total absences for a specific course reach one-third of the total course hours for the semester, they will be disqualified from participating in all examinations or assessments for that course, as determined by the course instructor.
