Course Description
 
本課程以漢傳佛教歷史發展為核心內容。中國佛教撰史與佛典目錄的傳統是由研習戒律的沙門所建立。此傳統的建立乃奠基於南北朝時期僧祐的《出三藏記集》、寶唱的《名僧傳》、《比丘尼傳》和慧皎的《高僧傳》這四種史書。
中國佛教史學發展第一高峰在梁武帝當政時期,第二高峰則在唐代安史之亂(755-762)之前。唐道宣律師繼慧皎的《高僧傳》之後撰《續高僧傳》30卷。《續高僧傳》內容除了替僧們先賢列傳外,更紀錄與道教人士或反佛帝王抗爭的歷史。與此同時道宣還編注了其他三本史書:《釋迦氏譜》、《釋迦方志》、《大唐內典錄》。
從東漢到北宋的漢傳佛教史,絕對無法忽視梁慧皎的《高僧傳》、唐釋道宣的《續高僧傳》和北宋贊寧的《宋高僧傳》,這三本佛教史書將眾多佛門和世俗佛教文獻貫穿起來。
本課程將透過各種佛教僧傳文獻,解讀特定時期的中國佛教發展歷程其歷史意義。
This course takes the historical development of Chinese Buddhism as its core content. The tradition of writing histories and catalogs of Chinese Buddhism was established by ascetics who studied the precepts. The establishment of this tradition is based on four historical books during the Southern and Northern Dynasties: Sengyou's "The Tripitaka Collection", Baochang's "Biography of Famous Monks", "Bhikshuni Biography" and Huijiao's "Biography of Eminent Monks".
The first peak of the development of Chinese Buddhist historiography was during the reign of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty, and the second peak was before the Anshi Rebellion (755-762) in the Tang Dynasty. Lawyer Daoxuan of the Tang Dynasty wrote 30 volumes of "The Continuation of the Biography of the Eminent Monk" after Huijiao's "The Biography of the Eminent Monk". "The Continued Biography of Eminent Monks" not only contains biographies of sages and sages, but also records the history of struggles against Taoists or anti-Buddhist emperors. At the same time, Daoxuan also compiled and annotated three other historical books: "Genealogy of Sakyamuni", "Fangzhi of Sakyamuni", and "Inner Code of the Tang Dynasty".
The history of Chinese Buddhism from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty cannot be ignored. Liang Huijiao's "Eminent Monk Biography", Tang Shi Daoxuan's "Extended Eminent Monk Biography" and Northern Song Dynasty Zanning's "Song Eminent Monk Biography". These three Buddhist history books bring together many Buddhist and Secular Buddhist literature runs throughout.
This course will interpret the historical significance of the development of Chinese Buddhism in a specific period through various Buddhist monastic documents.

2. 依本校「學則」第33條,曠課一小時,以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一,經該科教師扣考後,即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。
