Course Description

本課程探討的對象為古代漢譯佛典，幫助學生熟悉透過學術方法，對華夏釋氏譯本進行嚴謹的科學研究。學生的語文能力，自應包括現代研究語言——如華語、英語、日語——以及至少兩種古佛典語文（巴利語、梵語、佛典漢語、佛典藏語）。
This course aims at enabling the students to acquire the skills needed to work with traditional Buddhist translations in a scientific way. The students are expected to be familiar not only with the modern languages regarded indispensible to work in the field (English and/or Japanese, modern Chinese) but also at least with two of the main classical languages (Pali, Sanskrit, classical Tibetan and classical Chinese).

Course Objectives

	提高對傳本、版本的熟悉度 clarifying the importance of utilizing different versions/editions
	引導學生實際對勘、斠讎，釐訂精校本 familiarizing the students with the praxis of textual criticism

學生請假規則

1. 學生請假悉依本校「學則」及「學生請假辦法」規定辦理。
2. 依本校「學則」第33條，曠課一小時，以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一，經該科教師扣考後，即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。
