Course Description
 
本課程幫助學生習得理解當代文化現象的重要知識，例如文化概念的演變、意識型態、高雅／大眾／流行文化、全球化、後現代性、族裔、主體性與認同。學生必須主動參與課堂討論，並比較當代台灣與世界文化，尤其是英美文化諸多面向的異同，從而提出自己的見解。
This course prepares students with knowledge about salient dimensions of contemporary cultural phenomena, such as the development of the very idea of culture, ideology, high/mass/pop culture, globalization, postmodernity, ethnicity, subjectivity and identity. Students are required to participate actively and to compare cultural conditions, especially in Britain and the United States, with those in contemporary Taiwan.

 1. 學生請假悉依本校「學則」及「學生請假辦法」規定辦理。
2. 依本校「學則」第33條，曠課一小時，以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一，經該科教師扣考後，即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。
