Course Description

貧窮是一種社會現象，也就是說它並不是天生自然的，而是與社會環境有關。窮人為何窮？這個乍看之下是理所當然的問題，其實我們至今所獲得的解答是臆測多於理解。課程的第一部分，重點放在瞭解窮人到底怎樣看待自己所處的環境，以及採取的相應對策為何。在探討有關貧窮之理論之後，本課程將探討社會救助之相關議題，以及在不同社工專業領域裡的貧窮（如老人、身心障礙者、原住民、新住民、婦女等群體的貧窮）的社會工作實踐。
Poverty is a social phenomenon, which means that it is not natural but is related to the social environment. Why are the poor poor? This seems like a natural question at first glance. In fact, the answers we have obtained so far are more conjecture than understanding. The first part of the course focuses on understanding how poor people view their environment and what responses they take. After exploring theories about poverty, this course will explore issues related to social assistance and social work on poverty in different professional fields of social work (such as poverty among the elderly, people with disabilities, aboriginals, new residents, women, etc.) practice.
