本課程將中國女性置於「制度建構」與「個體實踐」的雙重維度下檢視。我們不再僅將女性視為歷史的點綴，而是透過其生命歷程——從出生、婚姻到老年的軌跡，剖析中國社會如何透過《周禮》、班昭《女誡》及宋明理學，確立「內外之別」與「陰陽秩序」的性別規範。
課程核心將深入探討女性如何於規範的縫隙中展現主體性：一方面研究漢唐女主政治對體制的衝擊，另一方面分析明清才女文化如何透過「閨塾」形成女性社交網絡。此外，課程亦將引進當代學術視野，重新解讀、檢視法律規範中女性財產繼承權的演變，進而探討「貞節」如何在家族經濟與國家榮譽的拉鋸下被神聖化。
This course examines the lived experiences of Chinese women through the dual analytical lenses of institutional construction and individual agency. Moving beyond the marginalization of women as mere historical "ornaments," the curriculum adopts a life-course approach—tracing the trajectories from birth and marriage to old age—to dissect how Chinese society established gender norms through the Rites of Zhou, Ban Zhao’s Admonitions for Women, and Neo-Confucianism. These frameworks were instrumental in institutionalizing the inner-outer distinction (neiwai) and the cosmological gender order of Yin and Yang.
At the heart of this course is a rigorous inquiry into how women asserted subjectivity within the interstices of patriarchal constraints. We will analyze the systemic impact of female regents during the Han and Tang dynasties on the imperial body politic, while simultaneously evaluating how the gentry-women culture of the Ming and Qing dynasties fostered female social networks through "inner-quarter" private tuitions (guishu). Furthermore, incorporating contemporary historiography, the course re-examines the evolution of female usufruct and inheritance rights within legal codes. It further explores the sacralization of female chastity, positioning it as a site of tension between lineage-based economic interests and state-driven moral hegemony.

1. 學生請假悉依本校「學則」及「學生請假辦法」規定辦理。
2. 依本校「學則」第33條，曠課一小時，以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一，經該科教師扣考後，即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。
