Course Description
 
本課程目的為教導研究生認識西方文學理論，能夠閱讀西方文學理論文本，掌握文學研究的方法論，進而能夠應用於學生所從事之研究課題。

教學內容將著重西方文學批評與理論流派及其方法論之解析。透過介紹西方文學批評與理論流派，引領學生認識這些理論，共同探討這些理論應用在學生所從事之研究課題的可能，期能鼓勵同學洞悉西方文學批評理論的長處，進而批判與反思，應用於其論文專題之研究。本課程將開展文學理論的歷史發展，介紹基本理論學派，再深入文本的判性理論與文化詮釋觀點。
The purpose of this course is to teach graduate students about Western literary theory, enabling them to read Western literary theoretical texts, master the methodology of literary research, and apply it to their research topics.

The instructional content will focus on analyzing Western literary criticism and theoretical schools of thought, along with their methodologies. By introducing these schools of thought, the course will guide students in understanding these theories and exploring how they might be applied to their own research topics. The goal is to encourage students to appreciate the strengths of Western literary criticism, critically reflect on them, and apply these insights to their thesis research. The course will explore the historical development of literary theory, introduce fundamental theoretical schools, and then delve into interpretative theories of texts and cultural perspectives.
