Course Description

社會科學研究方法是用來探究人類行為、社會結構及其變遷的系統性方法。它包括定性與定量的研究技術，並強調資料收集、分析與解釋的過程。研究方法幫助學者驗證假設、提出理論，並解釋社會現象。本課程的主要目的在於介紹社會學中各種研究方法和重要概念。本課程分成四個部分 — (1)什麼是科學和社會科學，(2)概念、假設形成與測量，(3)資料蒐集，(4)資料分析。

Social science research methods are systematic approaches used to explore human behavior, social structures, and their changes. It includes both qualitative and quantitative research techniques, emphasizing the process of data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Research methods help scholars test hypotheses, propose theories, and explain social phenomena. The major purpose of this course is to introduce basic concepts of methodology and observation methods in social sciences. This course will divided into four sections—(1)what is science and social science¸(2)concepts ,hypotheses, and measurements(3)data collection, and (4)data analysis.

Course Objectives

1	使同學對科學和社會科學研究方法有基本的認識，並熟悉各種資料蒐集、和分析方式。 The objective of this course is to give our students a basic understanding on different social science research methods, and familiar with data collection and data analysis.
2	讓同學熟悉研究設計與研究執行。To familiarize students with research design and research implementation.
3	對於分析方法能有基礎理解，並能針對研究成果提出解釋、預測與後續建議。To have a basic understanding of analytical methods and be able to provide explanations, predictions, and subsequent recommendations based on research findings.

學生請假規則

1. 學生請假悉依本校「學則」及「學生請假辦法」規定辦理。
2. 依本校「學則」第33條，曠課一小時，以缺課二小時論。學生某一科目之缺課總時數達該科全學期授課時數三分之一，經該科教師扣考後，即不准參加該科目之學期各項學習成績考試或評量。
